Thanks Jim, I really did ink them with a shaved chopstick, and I'm loving the freedom and adaptability of this simple tool. My buddy Rich Tuzon suggested it, at the prodding of another friend, Kelvin, and I'm loving it.

I'm glad you agree about the 'phantom driver' theory. I don't know what it is, but sometimes I just get in the zone.

And yes there is a comic story that's dying to get out, and this exploratory sketching is inching me toward the style I want to voice it in.

Yes. I'm thinking
it's probably a right brain/left brain thing -your right hemisphere just does it before your left hemisphere can evaluate what it is you're doing.

These are a lot of fun, Vince! I have to say, though, that I'm particularly drawn to the Frankenstein image.
you really captured some internal melancholy with the positioning of the head and the relationship to the eyes. there's something very deep going on there, perhaps it was projected, but very successful nonetheless.
