ISM April Gallery info...

This art below was created for The Friends of ISM "April Gallery".

I hope you can make it to the show, and maybe walk away with original art created by me, or John Quinn, Ryan Astamendi, Rich Tuzon and Jeff Shelly.

Big thanks to Mr. Rich Tuzon for the invite and for being inspirational on so many levels.

Hi Vince, happy Eeaster.
These look great! Great colors are very effective, very bold and well chosen palettes. I like your sense of humor.

Thanks, Brian. It is a heck of a lot more work than markers, I'll say that. Still struggling with
technique, but it feels good to be trying something new.

Happy Easter, Max. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm still feeling a little shakey with this medium, but it is challenging me.

Nice work Vince! I really like the direction you took with the color versions. The poses really came to life. Lots more personality to 'em! My new inspiration is to be just like your Uncle Sam. Now that's one happy guy!

Vin I'm confused...are the sketches on the left the early roughs for these watercolors? Or are you re-concepting the watercolors? If you're re-concepting....leave 'em alone, they're great.

Thanks, Eric and Ry. Yes the concepts in blue pencil on the left are re-concepts. But I think I'll stick with the first batch.

Thanks for your opinions guys, this project has been giving me a tough time. The idea is to put all three of the pieces in a horizontal frame, but I'm worried about them working together.

I'll bring the framed artwork in to work tomorrow, so you can see it and let me know what you think.

This gallery stuff is mind-wracking!

Vince,

That episode of "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures" you cited on John K.'s blog was done in the second (1988) season. John wasn't there at that point. He was at DIC doing the new "Beany and Cecil" show.

I stand corrected, Thomas. But I do see a lot of John K's influence, not to slight any other creative contributors. Did Mike Kazeleh work on that series too? It's been a long time, memory's a little fuzzy.
