BAM!-POW!-ZAP!

I love comics!
Books, strips, panels, any type of comics. I've been lucky enough to do a few of them... thirteen issues of "The Honeymooners", most of them with Golden Age artist Win Mortimer, pencils for the second half of the "Casper" movie adaptation with Harvey Comics' legendary Ernie Colon, and a handful of Silver Age-flavored comics with my friend, the titanically talented Juan "Johnny" Ortiz.

I met Juan when we worked together at the old Warner Brothers Studio Stores. Juan is a multi-faceted creator and he publishes "Silver Comics". I've helped him produce a few story arcs in some issues, an assignment I've always enjoyed because Juan works "Harvey Kurtzman" style and always supplies roughs and a story synopsis to work from.

Here are a couple of pages that will give you an idea of how we work together--

Check out Juan's blog: thesilvercomicsblog.blogspot.com
for updates on current publications and links to order back issues.

Man, Oscar, talk about energy, the illustrations by Jose Maria Cao are amazingly beautiful. Thanks for steering me toward this body of work by a truly gifted artist.

I recommend that you visit this site, fellow blogheads, but use Firefox, because Safari might not take you there.

Thanks, Professor!

Wow! What a great collaboration. You guys make a great team.

Safari sucks!

I agree, Ry. Juan is one of those rare artists who knows how to collaborate with others and make it a true joint effort. When we were at WB we'd always work together, sharing concepts and contributing to each others' drawings.
No bullshit bravado, stupid chest-pounding and underlying crippling insecurities.

Yes, PJ, you're right, Safari sucks. Limited in scope and constantly crashing, it's the Fisher-Price of startpages. I fucking hate it! They ought to find the idiot responsible for its creation and hang him, burn his remains and scatter his ashes in a garbage dump.

Wow! I thought I didn’t like it! :)

Damn browser goes down more than a cheap hooker on a busy Saturday night!

I just have to force myself to switch over to Firefox full time - I’ll let the guy off though!

Your modesty is a joy to me everyday Vince. What I love about your inks is that I can sit there for hours because there's a story behind each hit of ink. It's always so consistent and masterfully done.

Thanks for the kind comments, Eric. they came as a nice surprise on this beautiful Sunday morning.

Now I'm going to skip out to my backyard and sing with the birds and squirrels.

(I think this Disney gig is getting to me.)
