Thanks Ed and Max. These are warm-up sketches for a story I'm writing and drawing for Silver Comics. I'm trying to use a looser style on this one, so I've been testing the waters with pencil and ink sketches. It's tough getting away from the safety net of penwork, but I don't want to work that hard anymore. Also tough breaking away from the Non-Photo Blue Pencil "crutch".

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

For some reason, to me, this has a "feel" of the old Cracked magazine. I don't mean it in a bad way. I like the art in Cracked.

Well, Phantom, if you're referring to the fine work that one of my idols, John Severin created for that magazine, I'm flattered. In fact the look of my character Alex Armstrong was a strong nod to him and his influence.

That said; Thank you!

The guy on top looks like Rocco from the 'ol neighborhood. Wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley.

I have.
And it's NOT fun.

Thanks for dropping by, my brother.

Gorgeous loose ink sketches. Flexing the ol ink fingers? You're the best!
