a nice late afternoon...

Sometimes I like to crack open a book and copy some of the art contained therein. Just a quick remix or two of artwork by artists I admire.
In this case the book is 'Masters of American Comics'.
I can't say I'm crazy about this whole collection but there are some nice images in it.
I spent some time in the yard sketching from it late this afternoon and I had some fun.

the day...

the book...

the sketches...

Do you ever do this type of thing?

Awesome, Vince! I love surrounding myself with artists' work that I admire. It never fails to remind me what got me into art in the first place and pushes me to create more! Thanks for this refreshing post!

No, I never do, but it sounds like a great idea....peaceful and relaxing.
I wish I had a backyard.

Thanks guys. I like to do this because it challenges me to 'remix' the work of creative people I've long admired.
A chance to follow in the Masters' footprints. And learn a helluva lot.

Try it-- it's fun.

I think we should do exactly what we feel like doing when it comes to creating art.Good things may come out of it. Very nice Vincee.

Thanks Dorota. Sometimes it's just fun to zone out and sketch away.

when are you going to adopt me so I can sketch in your back yard too?

I'll bring the paperwork in to work on Monday.
At least I won't have to pay for your college education.
