so I heard that song when I was little and I would dream about it. In the dream, I always pictured Mickey Mouse running from some rolling meatball of death. It was all black and white too with a pie eyed Mickey. So weird... I'll never forget it. Anyway, cool painting. The moon's been a blood moon almost every night since the fires. That's a bad omen!
Right back at you, Vin! That's a very generous comment - I've always admired your clean line, which you dispatch with an intimidating speed. And I applaud you getting out of the advertising game. I'm sure you're having a lot more fun what you're doing now and you deserve it.
Yeah, Gem was a ferocious boot camp, and it took a while to get out of that bitter frame of mind about the place for me as well, but a stash of important skills were developed there, I'll admit.
BTW, another OT- did you get the Reynold Brown book? I picked that up at the SOI Spectrum show. Terrific book -everyone knows him as the monster guy,but he did so many movie posters!!
Well, sorry to say I haven't purchased the Reynold Brown book yet , Jim. And I know I should, but I'm on the fence with it. Maybe I'll score a copy of it on Amazon. They treat me well.
And I agree with your GEM observations, it was like a pirate ship in some respects, but it sure was a good ride!
Oh, look who's just joined the "blog police", thanks for the heads up, Ed. But I'm intending to let this latest post lay there for a few months. You got a problem with that?!

I'm scared :(
It's so nice to get comments from people whose work I admire, thanks Jim, Ry and Whitney, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Love the "Mickey and the Meatball of Death" story, Whitney. Why not illustrate it? And I like the fact that you know the term "blood moon".
Ry- Your latestst work is amazing.
Jim- You're one of my heroes! Always have been.
(I know Jim since my early days of bitter struggle at GEM Studio.)
