Yes Ryan, this Clown has more issues than a daily newspaper. It was probably done in '94, while working at Saatchi & Saatchi in NYC.
It's the same approach I used for the "Farewell Caricatures" I'd be asked to create for fellow employees and higher-ups who were moving on.
The setting is reality based, at the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights, where you can see a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline. That's the Twin Towers behind his head, long before a group of evil clowns decided to fly jet planes into them.
