writing & drawing comics...

I thought it might be fun to go from very old artwork to very new artwork.
These are a few pages of thumb-nails and early roughs from a story I'm working on.

That cover shot rocks! And your inspiration shows....and not just because it takes place in 1969.
Stay inspired my friend...

Wow...that's pretty heavy stuff Vince! Were you ever in Vietnam? What inspired you to do this? I really like it by the way.
You're so good at capturing the personality in a character.
Is there more?

Will the story be available after your done? Should you be posting these on the internet?

Great stuff as always, V!

Thanks Ry and Dorota. There are still plenty of bugs to work out on the visuals, but I needed to get the ideas on paper. Glad you like where it's going.

It was a pretty heavy time, Whitney. I did have a draft lottery number but I was never called, although some of my friends were sent there.
I guess a bit of the inspiration came from making those 1969 sketches. But the main reason is because it's being produced for "Silver Comics", a friend's comic book line that is rooted in the '50s and '60s.
And yes there will be more. I'm shooting for a 32 page story.

Hi Kimzam. I'm hoping it will be published. My publisher wanted to have it ready for Comicon, but I don't know if I'll be able to wrap it up in time. It's been a difficult birth, and I don't consider myself a writer. I'm more of a cobbler.
I'm guessing it's okay for me to post a few roughs as a preview, especially since I don't feel like I'm giving the plot away with these visuals. This sequence is mainly an introduction to one of the characters, a prologue. In fact I'd be amazed if anyone was able to make heads or tails out of my notes.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Cool Vince! I love seeing the process and how you think your story through.

Thank you Stacey, I'm glad you like it. I never know if anyone will find this kind of work interesting. Maybe I'll post some more of it later.
