Art from the Crypt...

These go way back to the early '70s. I was working a lot in pen & ink and color pencils on illustration board. I was also devouring any Will Eisner art I could find. Eisner's still a big influence on my work today.

These are great Vince! I love how the color compliments the inks. I know how difficult that is and I see other artists do it all the time. You're a Master!

WOW! And to think you've had all of this skill for 35 years!! Impressive. My artwork from the early 70's can't compare......and I know Hutch's can't either, since he was born in '85.

C'mon guys, cut it out, you're making me blush.

At the time this was drawn I was still a very green kid, throwing stuff at the wall in an effort to see what would stick. What I did have going for me was a very discerning eye for influences, and thankfully, a keen sense of how to filter them through my limited capabilities.
I'm happy to say that I still feel the same hunger for inspiration. That's the best part of working in a creative field, you're never finished learning new things.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I really appreciate them.

Oops. What I meant to say is that I see other artists FAIL at it (complimenting inks w/colors) all the time. A nod to your ability.
