more schlock from the crypt--

This was an early attempt at creating a character, based on how I thought a Charles Schulz-style teenager from a rough city area would look.
Think "Charlie Brown goes to Brooklyn".

I love the thinking behind the character, and to hear about the influences. An inspired young Vince! Very cool.....destined to draw and create for a living.

You can be arrested nowadays for drawing a kid smoking a cigarette. Pretty real though, you may brave the law and resuscitate him.
Could be Charlie Brown himself only a few years later.
Very interesting to see your very early drawings, less accomplished than later but clearly the same personality.

Thanks guys. I was twelve or thirteen years old at the time I made these and learning everything about life from the halls of high school and the streets of Brooklyn.
Even the number on the shirt is an early act of rebellion.

Looking at it now I notice he has the same ears as Bjorn.
